Suwasevana, founded by Ven. Kahanda Amarabuddhi Thero in 2018, is a compassionate facility located near Karapitiya Hospital, offering free services to those in need, regardless of race or religion. Our mission is to provide accommodation for patients who travel long distances to receive medical treatment in the city. Many rural patients must arrive a day early for their appointments, but once in the city, they often cannot afford nearby lodging and are left to sleep in unsafe places like bus stops.

To help, Suwasevana offers safe, comfortable lodging in two buildings for up to 36 patients daily, each accompanied by one family caregiver. The length of stay depends on the patient’s treatment. We also provide free meals, beverages, and amenities each day. Our friendly staff is always available to offer assistance and ensure patients feel supported throughout their stay.
